Crowd Surfer Flags are designed to be passed over participants’ heads at large stadia events such as football matches. Our standard Crowd Surfer Flags are printed in vibrant full colour on our lightweight, flame-retardant fabric. We manufacture these giant flags at up to any size, and you will have seen a fair few of ours in operation at major events across Europe! They are ideal for advertising to television audiences and for stadium crowds,

Crowd Surfer Flag Printing process

We print our Our Crowd Surfing Banners using a high-resolution dye-sublimation printing method. The finished flags are vibrant and deep in colour and clarity. You can use text, images, logos, and photographs in your design, meaning we can print any design onto your custom flags.

Custom flag material options

Polyester 115 material

As standard, we print our crowd surfer flags onto 115gsm lightweight and flame-retardant polyester fabric. The fabric is lightweight so easy to handle and lightweight when holding up at your event. Polyester 115gsm material is flame-retardant and meets all UK and EU fire standards. Because the polyester material is lightweight makes the printed flag very easy to hold up at events and football matches.

Airmesh polyester material

We also offer air mesh polyester fabric. At 115 gsm the material is the same weight as polyester 115 so very easy to handle. The benefits of an air mesh fabric are that the air mesh contains holes on the surface. Air mesh is preferred when wind and adverse weather is an issue as the wind passes through the face much more easily than standard polyester 115. If you require your printed flag in our air mesh, please leave a note on your order, and we manufacture in the mesh material.

Lightweight flag printing that’s easy to store

The benefit of polyester flag material is the ability to store your flag in a small package. Both materials are very easy to fold and store. Polyester folds up as easily as a bedsheet, meaning that a large flag folded neatly will fit in a small backpack.

Finishing

Giant Crowd Surfer Flags are usually finished with simple colour-co-ordinated stitched seams. Options include eyelets, sleeve pockets, grab handles and more. However, you require your crowd flag finishing we have the perfect solution to your requirements. As each flag is a bespoke item, we can usually finish your flag to your required needs. If you have any questions about printed crowd flags, then please get in touch.

Rules on Crowd Surfer Flags

Always check with the Event Organiser or Organisation before ordering your crowd surfer flag. Different venues and operators have different rules and regulations, so you are best checking with the operator before ordering. Most insist that you request permission a few days in advance of the event for any flag or banner over 2m in size, and all will insist on seeing a valid fire certificate. Here are some common do’s and do not’s.

  • DO ask permission in advance
  • DO NOT obstruct any entrances/exits with your flag
  • DO NOT obstruct any existing advertising, informational or health & safety notices
  • DO ensure that the flag is flame retardant to British / EU requirements and you must be able to provide a valid certificate
  • DO NOT use any offensive images or wording in your design

Many stadiums will allow you to store your flag with them between regular events such as football matches.

Frequently Asked Questions »

How big can you make crowd surfer flags?

To any size. Our machines print at up to 3.2 metres wide. Larger flags and banners are seamed together in panels.

Do artworks automatically go to print or are they checked?

Yes we check all artworks upon receipt of your order.

What material is this product printed on?

We use 115gsm polyester as this is a very light fabric that can be easily stored or carried.

Can these be made so they can be carried on a march using poles?

Yes we can finish them with pole pockets on the sides. The pockets will be stitched closed at the top to prevent the banner sliding down the poles. Things to consider when having this kind of banner made is overall size and weight. If it is too big is can act like a big sail in the wind which will make it harder for people to carry.

Can it be printed double sided?

No this is a single sided product only. You will get a reverse show through on the back.If you want a double sided product check out our double sided fabric but bare in mind that this will be a lot heavier.

Do the large crowd surfing flags have carry handles?

Normally not, but we can put carry handles around the edges of the flag so many people can carry it at once. The handles are normally placed ever 1m around the edges. Please select the carry handles option in the finishing instructions.

Can we peg a large flag into soft ground or grass?

Yes, we recommend using tent pegs through eyelets to peg the flag into the ground.

Buying banners in confidence

You can buy from Banner World with confidence. Your job will go through several checks before manufacture. Firstly when your job comes in, we check all your uploaded files and cross-reference each file against your order. At this point, if we see that artwork is incorrect or if there is a file missing we will contact you to request new artwork. Most of our banners and fabrics are manufactured at our large print factory in Europe. Our standard turnaround on items is 5-6 working days for delivery. Even though most of our ordering system has been automated, we still carry out several manual checks before processing your order. If at any point we have a question or a problem with your order you will be contacted before manufacturing.

Our processes

Please read the information below on how your order is processed. Each order goes through several checks before printing. Our file checking service is standard procedure on all orders. Checking your files means that you can place your order in confidence, knowing that we will check to make sure your order and corresponding artwork match and are correct. Anything we are not sure that we will contact you before proceeding.

What is Our Initial checking service?

When you place an online order, we will cross-reference your artwork against your order. At this point, we will check that the artwork sizes and file type match the order. We will make sure we have the correct number of artwork files for the job. At this stage, if anything appears to be incorrect, we will place the order on hold and contact you immediately.

How do we process your order?

Once we are happy with your order, we will then process it. We collate all the information for each job, including finishing and material type. The job information is then sent with your artwork to the pre-press department. Pre-press is where we will create and prepare your job for printing.

Our Pre Press and second checking service.

Pre-press refers to the stage before printing. Here your artwork is converted into the correct format for our machines and finishing processes. At this point, if something is spotted which isn’t correct or if there is a problem we will again contact you.

How do we print and track your order through the factory?

Your job is now batched together with other items on the same material. Each item has assigned to it a unique code. The code is used to track the order through our factory. The information is used to check the material, quantity and finishing information on the item. The order then goes through our print presses.

How do we finish your printed items?

Every job we produce is different to the next, whether it be size, material, shape or finishing. Your printed items will be finished as requested on your order. We automate as much of the finishing as possible, cutting down on labour costs and passing on the savings to you. The Prepress data is inputted into parts of our finishing equipment. Your graphics are now finished to your custom requirements. Each printed product is set up differently for each type of finishing process. A banner that has hem and eyelets will be manufactured and produced in a different way to a flag with a pole pocket.

How are your items packed?

We have now manufactured your items. The finishing pieces now move onto the packing department. At the packing stage, we collate your order. Items get checked off against the order using the order code system. The printed goods get wrapped and packed, ready for despatch.

How do you ship my goods?

Now your item has been packed it is ready to be shipped. From placing your order, your goods have taken approx 24-48 hours to get to this stage. We have a logistics team which arrange the shipping through UPS. Our standard delivery (£15 or free over £250) will now take an additional three days to be delivered to an address on UK mainland and most of mainland Europe. Our standard shipping will travel via road and sea to reach the UK. We do offer a faster 1-day shipping method which is our 4-day turnaround service. The fast turnaround service is expensive on low-value bulky orders and is more cost-effective on higher volume jobs. Items to the US and other worldwide destinations will take longer to be delivered. For items going to Ireland, the Isle of Wight, Isle of Man, Scottish highlands etc. please add an extra day onto delivery times
