Printed Mesh Banners

We print Mesh Banners to any size or specification using our super-wide format solvent printing machines.

PVC Mesh Banners are ideal for outside use in high wind areas as the fine mesh allows wind to pass through. Also known as windproof banners, our mesh banners are less likely to be destroyed by high winds and adverse weather.

How do mesh banners work?

With thousands of tiny holes in the material, PVC Mesh banner material allow air and some light to pass through, which means less resistance to gusts of wind. Because mesh banners are less likely to be affected by wind, you can mesh banners much larger than standard PVC banners.

Windproof Mesh Banner Printing

Display Banners made from PVC mesh are ideal as scaffold banners or fence banners. Standard mesh still has a 70% print area meaning that your graphics remain vibrant. Our windproof mesh banners are suitable for high building wraps and scaffolding wraps, fence banners, cafe banners in windy areas and lamp post banners.

Mesh Banners, Durable outdoor advertising for businesses

Mesh banners are a popular choice for businesses looking to create eye-catching displays and advertising signage that can withstand the weather. These versatile and durable banners are made from a high-quality mesh material that allows air to flow through, making them perfect for use on buildings, scaffolds, fences, and walls.

Mesh banner’s come in a range of colours and sizes, making them a great choice for businesses looking to print large-scale graphics and messages that will grab the attention of their target audience. They are also available in bulk quantities, with many companies offering bulk discounts to help businesses save money on their advertising needs.

One of the main benefits of using mesh banners is their wind resistance. Unlike vinyl banners, which can be easily damaged by strong winds, mesh banners are designed to withstand even the most extreme weather conditions. They are also reusable, making them a cost-effective option for businesses looking to create long-lasting advertising displays.

Mesh banners are a popular choice for real estate companies, roadside sales, and exhibition services. They are also used by marketers and designers to create impactful displays that will grab the attention of their target audience. By using a mesh banner as part of their marketing strategy, businesses can create a memorable message that will resonate with consumers and drive revenue.

To ensure the best results, it’s important to work with a company that has experience in creating high-quality mesh banners. They will be able to advise on the best materials, finish, and hems to use, as well as the best cable ties and scaffolds to secure the banner in place. By working with a reputable company, businesses can ensure that their mesh banner is of the highest quality and will deliver the desired impact.

Long-Lasting Digitally Printed Vinyl Mesh Banners & Signs

We make mesh banners with welded hems and a range of other finishing options. Our custom mesh banners are supplied with either hem and eyelets or pole pockets to the industry’s highest standards. We also offer a reinforced hem on larger banners. A reinforced hem adds an extra layer or reinforcement webbing which increase hem strength. Reinforcing a banner hem creates super strong mesh banners with extra longevity.

High-quality mesh banner printing

Superb high quality printed using fade-resistant eco-solvent outdoor inks. Correctly fitted our mesh banners will last years outdoors, in sun, wind and rain. Ideal as outdoor advertising banners being waterproof, windproof and able to be produced at massive sizes.

Strong banners that let the wind through

PVC Mesh vinyl banner material is much lighter in weight than a traditional front-light PVC banner. Winds of 30mph+ will damage regular PVC large banners. Remember that giant banners act like large sails. Gusts of wind can quickly destroy a PVC banner. Large non-mesh banners are okay as long as they are installed against a solid surface or within a fixed wall-mounted tension-frame system.

Lowest cost Mesh Banner printing

The initial cost of a Mesh PVC banner or a standard vinyl banner is relatively the same. Due to a smaller wind resistance factor, Mesh Banner’s last longer outdoors. Lowering the impact of the wind can make Mesh banners cheaper in the long run. Mesh banner material contains thousands of tiny holes to decrease wind resistance and structural wind loading.

Fitting Mesh Banners

A professional survey of your intended installation site is advisable for any outdoor banners over 25 square metres in size. A surveyor will calculate wind-loading on the structure and advise on the fixings necessary.

Giant Mesh Banners such as Building Wraps are usually installed in sections, straight onto scaffolding using Bungee Shock Cord. Your scaffolder should ensure that no pole ends are projecting that they may damage your banner.

Without scaffolding, large mesh banners are installed using a wire cable frame and a criss-cross effect of bungee rope. Even more, this method allows when the wind hits the mesh banner and ensures a secure and long-lasting installation.

Finishing Mesh Banners

As standard, we hem and eyelet our Mesh Banners all round with metal eyelets. We can add pockets to slide poles through if required at no extra cost; please specify the pole diameter in your order notes. Bigger mesh banners can have reinforced hems at a slight additional cost.

Why choose Hems and Eyelets on a Mesh Banner?

Hem and Eyelets are the most popular finishing method. We can add more eyeholes if required. If you need additional eyelets adding, then please enter this information into the ‘Additional Information’ box when ordering.

Mesh banners with Reinforced Hems

A reinforced hem add even more strength to a standard hem. We hem the banner and then add an extra layer of special reinforcement webbing. The webbing can increase the outer of the banner by another 200%. Used generally on larger banners, reinforcement webbing makes your mesh banners super strong and ideal for use in very exposed areas. Smaller banners will suffice with a standard hem.

How can I attach my mesh banner to a wall?

We can finish the banner with hem and eyelets. You can then screw your banner to the wall or cladding using large washers and screws.

As an option, you can select Heavy Duty Hems and Eyelets, recommended if your mesh banner is over 20 square metres in size.

Applications that might require a hem and eyelets include:

  • Wall Fitting (screw into the brick using wide-head screws and penny washers).
  • On fences and railings, cable ties are an excellent method of securing.
  • Attaching to scaffolding, we advise using cable ties or bungee cord).
  • If attaching to metals cladding, we advise using cladding bolts (tech bolts) and penny washers.

Why do I need Pole Pockets?

We can manufacture your mesh PVC banner with pole pockets if required. Pole pockets allow the banner to slide over a pole or cable. Standard scaffold tubes need a 150mm flat pocket size to fit comfortably with plenty of space not to cause much tension on the pocket seam. We make mesh banners with pole pockets if required to any size you needed. As well as a pole pocket, we can add additional eyelets if required.

A pocket easily accommodates a weighted bar or dowel or cable. In some instances, a broom handle or similar can be placed inside the bottom, acting as a weight to tension the banner. Weighting creates a more rigid appearance and is less likely to move around. Check here for more information on pole pockets and how to design for them.

Applications that might require a pole pocket include:

  • Scaffolding.
  • A pocket is ideal at a stage event or music venues.
  • Cable or rope system.
  • Lamppost banner brackets.
  • Banner brackets.
  • To add tension by adding a weighted dowel or rod to the bottom pocket for hanging internally.

Check our Guide to Pole Pockets on Banners.

Design Guide for Mesh Banners

We print PVC mesh banners from your print-ready artwork.

Set your dimensions correctly

Set your artwork to the correct proportions of your final printed mesh banner. We do not require any bleed on the artwork for a printed mesh. If necessary, you can set your artwork to scale.

Set the correct CMYK colour settings

Make sure that you set your colour settings to CMYK. Our mesh banner printers use a full-colour solvent printing process which works using a CMYK Process. We will change RGB files automatically if you send through files in this colour format. Sometimes this can make the colours on your mesh printed banner seem weak & washed out. We will check for this before printing and contact you if required.

The positioning of eyelets on your Printed Mesh Banners

Please leave a clear area of approx 50mm inside the outside edge of the banner. Background colour/images are not a problem. The eyelets can obscure items to close to the perimeter. Do not place relevant text, design elements, small print or logos to near the banner’s edge. Around our mesh banners, we will add hem and eyelets unless otherwise stated. We don’t advise to have just eye holes (without the hem) as this can cause the material to rip.

We space our eyelets approx every 500mm apart unless otherwise stated. We evenly space the eyelets. Gaps will vary slightly on different sizes of banners.

Mesh Banner Design Principles

It is important to consider viewing distances. Always create your artwork to give the highest possible impact on a mesh banner. Contrasting colours will give your banner much more bang than washed out subtle colours.

Also, think about text sizes. Text is easier to read from a distance if it is sizable. Use upper and lower fonts. Look at road signs as they are all in upper and lower type rather than all capitals. Subconsciously your eyes will read upper and lower (sentence case).

Consider using a QR Code in your design to direct viewers to further information on your website or social media page.

Use of fonts on Mesh Banner’s

Usually, clearer fonts work better than stripy, script or unreadable fonts. Look at most leading brands, i.e. McDonald’s, IKEA, B&Q, Dominos Pizza – all these companies use very readable fonts and typefaces.

Less is more, cramming every little bit of information onto your mesh banner probably isn’t a good idea. Remember to use areas of space and give your design space to breathe. The best mesh banner designs are always simple and straight to the point.

Frequently Asked Questions »

What's the maximum size mesh vinyl banner you can print?

We produce mesh vinyl banners to any size, including ones big enough to wrap around buildings. Our machines print onto 5m wide rolls and sections of mesh are welded together to create bigger banners.

Why should I choose a Mesh Banner?

Mesh material allows wind to pass through it. If your banner is going to be placed in an exposed location, you should use Mesh. This reduces the wind-loading on the structure you install it on.

Do I need reinforced hems?

We can add reinforced hems to your banners if required. You can select this option in the finishing instructions section of the order process. Reinforced hems are a specially reinforced webbing welded into the hem which is added to each edge of the banner. This webbing gives the edges added strength for extra durability.

What type of eyelets do you use?

All banners are eyeleted using nickel-plated silver eyelets which have a 12mm hole. All banners which specify hem and eyelets are eyeleted every 500mm. Eyelets are evenly spaced across the length and width of the banner so gaps will be as near to 500mm as possible. If you require more eyelets or require them in certain positions, please add this into your order notes.

What are pole pockets?

We can finish your mesh banner with pole pockets if required. We can make the pocket any size you require.

Can this material be printed on both sides?

No. This is a single-sided printed only. The reverse side will be white in colour.

I want to order x6 banners but would like you to print x1 of each design. Is this possible?

Yes of course. Upload all your files, then in the additional information box let us know the breakdown of quantities.

How long is delivery?

Standard Mesh Banners will be with you in 5-6 working days from order and approval of artwork.

Can you colour match?

Our print process is CMYK with a high degree of colour-matching. Our machines are highly calibrated to accurately reproduce the information in CMYK print files. Call us if you need to match to specific corporate branding or Pantone colours.

Is the material flame retardant?

Yes. Our PVC Mesh is flame retardant to B1

What is the recommended fixing methods to scaffolding?

There are a few options available depending on the size of your banner. Smaller mesh banners can have pole pockets on them which you can use scaffold tube connected to the main frame of the scaffold. Hem and Eyelets is also a good option which allows you to use cable ties or bungee ties. For larger banners we recommend hem & eyelets with reinforced hem and then fasten to the scaffold using long bungee cord. Many installers weave the cord in zig-zag formation through the eyelets and onto the frame of the scaffold. It is important to measure fixing area accurately prior to ordering.

Will colours come out nice and vibrant?

With the nature of mesh and the holes allowing light through it is important when designing that the colours are stronger / darker to compensate for this. It is also important that you don’t use text that is small and fine which may be hard to read.

Will welded joins be visible?

There will be some degree of visibility of welded joins on mesh but for most this isn’t an issue as the banners are large and designed to be viewed at a relative distance.

What is the weight of your standard mesh?

Our standard mesh is 330gsm (grams per square metre)

Do you have any wind load specification?

330gsm Mesh PVC has an air permeability of 3500 l/m2 per second.  We do have technical data sheets available to download on request

I don't have a Design yet for my Mesh Banner, can you help?

Yes, we can! You can use our Online Design Tool to create your own artwork for your Mesh Banner. Choose from our library of typefaces, backgrounds, clipart and images, or upload your own to the Tool, it’s that simple!

Buying banners in confidence

You can buy from Banner World with confidence. Your job will go through several checks before manufacture. Firstly when your job comes in, we check all your uploaded files and cross-reference each file against your order. At this point, if we see that artwork is incorrect or if there is a file missing we will contact you to request new artwork. Most of our banners and fabrics are manufactured at our large print factory in Europe. Our standard turnaround on items is 5-6 working days for delivery. Even though most of our ordering system has been automated, we still carry out several manual checks before processing your order. If at any point we have a question or a problem with your order you will be contacted before manufacturing.

Our processes

Please read the information below on how your order is processed. Each order goes through several checks before printing. Our file checking service is standard procedure on all orders. Checking your files means that you can place your order in confidence, knowing that we will check to make sure your order and corresponding artwork match and are correct. Anything we are not sure that we will contact you before proceeding.

What is Our Initial checking service?

When you place an online order, we will cross-reference your artwork against your order. At this point, we will check that the artwork sizes and file type match the order. We will make sure we have the correct number of artwork files for the job. At this stage, if anything appears to be incorrect, we will place the order on hold and contact you immediately.

How do we process your order?

Once we are happy with your order, we will then process it. We collate all the information for each job, including finishing and material type. The job information is then sent with your artwork to the pre-press department. Pre-press is where we will create and prepare your job for printing.

Our Pre Press and second checking service.

Pre-press refers to the stage before printing. Here your artwork is converted into the correct format for our machines and finishing processes. At this point, if something is spotted which isn’t correct or if there is a problem we will again contact you.

How do we print and track your order through the factory?

Your job is now batched together with other items on the same material. Each item has assigned to it a unique code. The code is used to track the order through our factory. The information is used to check the material, quantity and finishing information on the item. The order then goes through our print presses.

How do we finish your printed items?

Every job we produce is different to the next, whether it be size, material, shape or finishing. Your printed items will be finished as requested on your order. We automate as much of the finishing as possible, cutting down on labour costs and passing on the savings to you. The Prepress data is inputted into parts of our finishing equipment. Your graphics are now finished to your custom requirements. Each printed product is set up differently for each type of finishing process. A banner that has hem and eyelets will be manufactured and produced in a different way to a flag with a pole pocket.

How are your items packed?

We have now manufactured your items. The finishing pieces now move onto the packing department. At the packing stage, we collate your order. Items get checked off against the order using the order code system. The printed goods get wrapped and packed, ready for despatch.

How do you ship my goods?

Now your item has been packed it is ready to be shipped. From placing your order, your goods have taken approx 24-48 hours to get to this stage. We have a logistics team which arrange the shipping through UPS. Our standard delivery (£15 or free over £250) will now take an additional three days to be delivered to an address on UK mainland and most of mainland Europe. Our standard shipping will travel via road and sea to reach the UK. We do offer a faster 1-day shipping method which is our 4-day turnaround service. The fast turnaround service is expensive on low-value bulky orders and is more cost-effective on higher volume jobs. Items to the US and other worldwide destinations will take longer to be delivered. For items going to Ireland, the Isle of Wight, Isle of Man, Scottish highlands etc. please add an extra day onto delivery times
