How to install custom wallpaper

Our wallpaper is easy to install and behaves in the same way as an off-the-shelf roll. However, we always recommend the help of a decorator or a handyman. Smooth printed wallpaper has a standard paper backing, so you need to purchase some high-quality wallpaper paste for installation. The backing of the custom wallpaper has super absorbency properties, so it has good paste soakage properties. Our printed wallpaper is supplied in strips, and the size of your order will determine the width of the strips. Typically bespoke wallpaper would come supplied in sections varying between 1m and 1.3m wide. Please make sure that your walls are smooth and properly prepared.

Do I need to allow extra wallpaper for trimming?

We recommend ordering your size larger than your wall. The amount of extra needed for trimming will depend on the size of your total area. We would advise ordering an additional 6 inches (150mm) on all edges. For example, if your wall is 4m long x 2.5m in height, we’d advise adding 300mm on the length and 300mm on the height (150mm on all edges). Thus making your overall size when ordering 4.3m x 2.8m.

How do you print custom wallpaper?

We print our smooth custom wallpaper using the latest in large format printing techniques. In addition, we print using either eco-solvent or latex methods. Our print technology means we can produce vibrant full-colour images at high resolution and quality.

How is our custom printed wallpaper trimmed?

Once we have printed the wallpaper, the media goes through to our trimming department. We use our state of the flatbed cutter to cut the media from our digital cut files. The cutter uses a fabric conveyor belt to cut through 100m rolls in a few minutes. The large flatbed cutter uses a unique optical registration mark detection meaning it can cut bespoke wallpaper very accurately to millimetre precision. The digital cut machine scans the media and searches for the registration marks. Once the machine has scanned all the registration marks, it then cuts the wallpaper using a pre-defined cut path. The result is a bespoke printed wallpaper that matches perfectly.

Is this supplied in rolls?

We don’t supply wallpaper in rolls in a traditional sense like you buy from a wallpaper shop. Each order is custom printed from your artwork based on the size of the area you would like to cover.  Our max print widths are 1.3m and would normally send out in strips up to that size.

How do I install this wallpaper?

This is installed using a regular household wallpaper paste. It is recommend to paste the wall rather than the paper. Then use a damp cloth to damp the back of the paper before offering it up to the pasted wall.

I have designed a pattern, can you repeat this and supply on rolls?

We would need the complete artwork for the whole area you are covering.  Allow for extra paper to trim off if covering a full wall.

Do you have any stock photographic images i.e a city backdrop?

We don’t have stock images but can recommend some good online resources. Please contact one of our team if you need help with artwork. Artwork fees may apply.

Can you print metallic colours?

Unfortunately we can’t print metallic or spot colours. The wallpaper uses the same CMYK print process as all of our other printed goods.

Do you have a self adhesive wallpaper that I can use that is easily removed?

Will my artwork be checked before printing?

Yes we check all artworks as standard to make sure the quality is good enough to print and the size is correct.

This material type has been tested for flame retardancy to UK and EU regulation standards.

We are unable to produce individual test certificates for each bespoke item.
